Two leading multihull vessels, the Seawind 1370 catamaran and the Corsair 880 trimaran, were featured in Newport during the Pittwater Sail Expo, attracting strong attention from visitors and sailing enthusiasts across Australia.
Multihulls Take Centre Stage in Newport
The 2025 Pittwater Sail Expo took place from 24 to 26 October at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club on Mitala Street, Newport. Over three days, thousands of attendees visited the marina to explore the latest in sailing design and technology. Multihull Central presented two standout models—the Seawind 1370 and Corsair 880—offering on-water experiences and expert discussions with potential buyers and charterers.

Spotlight on Seawind 1370 and Corsair 880
The Seawind 1370, a 45-foot catamaran designed for long-distance cruising, combines spacious liveaboard comfort with performance sailing. Managed through Multihull Central’s subsidiary Charter Boat Central, it operates charters on Pittwater and Sydney Harbour. It is also available through year-round Cruz Club subscriptions for those wishing to test the vessel before committing to ownership.
The Corsair 880, a 28-foot trimaran, drew attention for its trailerable design and versatility for both racing and leisure sailing. During the expo, visitors participated in scheduled “Tri-Sailing” demonstration sessions showcasing its speed, agility, and stability. The model is available for immediate delivery, ideal for weekend sailors around Pittwater and Broken Bay.

A Successful Weekend on Pittwater
The Pittwater Sail Expo showcased more than 35 monohulls and multihulls from international and Australian yacht builders. Exhibitors reported strong engagement, with interest from new and seasoned sailors alike. The event also featured marine accessories, rigging services, chandlery, and sailing apparel, offering a full display of products for boating enthusiasts.
The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club once again provided an ideal venue, with its marina facilities and volunteer support contributing to the event’s success.
Looking Ahead
With the 2025 event hailed as a success, planning is already underway for the 2026 Pittwater Sail Expo. Organisers aim to expand the exhibition with additional vessels, marine gear, and interactive opportunities, ensuring the Newport waterfront remains a highlight of Australia’s sailing calendar.
