RMYC Club Kicks Off Redevelopment to Celebrate 100 Years in 2026

RMYC Club members and Pittwater locals can expect a dramatic change in 2026, as the Broken Bay marina hub undergoes its biggest upgrade in decades. A new restaurant, wellness centre, and rooftop function terrace are just some of the planned upgrades for the club, which sits on the edge of Pittwater in Newport.

Building for the Future

According to schedule, construction began in April 2025, with completion expected by early 2026 to coincide with the club’s 100th anniversary. As part of the works, the Salt Cove restaurant is being relocated to Level One, aligning it with the Lounge Bar to improve water views and event flow.

The upgraded restaurant will offer casual and elevated dining with alfresco seating and 180-degree bay views. Weekend live music in the Lounge Bar is planned, responding to member feedback for better use of the club’s location.

New Wellness and Lifestyle Facilities

A wellness centre will replace the current ground-floor restaurant, featuring treatment rooms, a pilates and yoga studio, and fitness equipment from Technogym. Members can join in-person or virtual classes.

Beside the wellness centre, a new café and deli will serve fresh snacks and meals, while a providore stocks grab-and-go packs and boating essentials. These will be open to all, and members can choose to add gym access to their current membership.

Pool and Outdoor Upgrades

The pool will remain in place but get a full resort-style upgrade, with new seating, banana lounges, and shaded spots. A nearby café will offer light meals, smoothies, and coffee, with takeaway for marina visitors.

Access to the pool will be closed during construction, but the club will remain open overall. The marina, bars, and dining areas will still operate, though some services will temporarily move to the Compass Terrace once interior works begin later in 2025.

Supporting Community and Events

A rooftop terrace will extend from the Top Deck function room, adding space for weddings and events with sweeping views over Pittwater. A new lift from Reception will improve access, while the current lift becomes service-only.

Upgrades include new windows, refurbished bathrooms, fresh paint, and landscaping to better blend with the surroundings. The club aims to create a lasting, community-friendly space.
